AERODYNAMIC FRAME (WIND TUNNEL TESTED) The LOOK 596 was created for Triathlons where aerodynamic is crutial . The bike is ideal for riders seeking a position for speed. Aerodynamics is the top priority of the bike. Our engineers studied all angles and shape of the tubes in order to obtain the most aerodynamic bike on the market and tested in the wind tunnel at the Magny Cours Race Track in Nevers, France. Each tube of the frame is positioned to optimise the air flow between the rider and the bike together in MOTION. In collaboration with Look engineers and the aerodynamic engineers at Magny Cours, Look improved the aerodynamic of the 596 by 10% more aero than the 496. Both were tested in the wind tunnel. Aerodynamics and rigidity are often difficult to have in one bike. Look was able to achieve this by integrating in one piece the bottom bracket with the downtube in one continuous shape. MONOBLOCS PARTS CONSTRUCTION The 596 was manufactured in a special way in order to obtain the stiffness and aerodynamic shape. The 596 consists of 3 monoblocs : the front triangle integrated seat post and the 2 halfs of the rear triangle, left & right sides. This is a new concept with 2 wishbones a left and a right: left & right half of the seat & chain stays. The junction of the seat stays is also a new technique using a flat surface to act as a carbon plate. This technique allows for a greater contact surface and therefore making it more durable & stiffer where the parts are connected. OFFSET AERODYNAMIC MONOBLADE FORK The Offset LOOK Aero Fork has an important function as it is the part of the bike that penatrates the air first. The 596 fork was designed to act as a fairing. The addition with a specific designed indexed stem adds a stiffer and responsive front end for steering precision. INTEGRATED SEATPOST, E POST R32 Elastomer blocks absorb the vibrations through a slight inflection of the seatpost backwards, thus greatly improving cyclist comfort. The most flexible elastomer (grey) provides the same déformation ratio as a conventional LOOK Ergopost 4 seatpost at maximum height. High deformation = maximum comfort (Diagram 1). The use of three elastomer grades of different densities make it possible to adjust the vibration transmission. The firmest elastomer: the black colour grade provides the same déflection as the 2007 Road E-Post, with only one 3-mm elastomer to filter the vibrations. The two other elastomer units (grey or red) provide greater vibration dampening. REVERSIBLE : Steepens seat tube angle to an effective 76° angle on a road frame when intended for a more tri specific position. The saddle can be positioned +/-32mm in the forward/ backward direction from seat tube centre line. This E-Post is reversible and utilizes a 360° multi-directional saddle adjustment clamping system. EASY ANGLE SEAT ADJUSTMENT : With only one easily accessible bolt, the clamps can be loosened and the seat can be adjusted.
